Herbs, perennial, tall, glabrous, often with rambling habit. Leaves 2-temately
compound, glaucous, often bluish green. Flowers large, drooping, white or purplish.
Sepals 5, petaloid, ovate-acute. Petals 5; spur long, straight or slightly hooked at apex.
Carpels 5. Seeds small, granular, black.

Distrib. India: Open slopes in alpine regions, 2500 - 5000 m. Jammu & Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh.
