Herbs, perennial. Scapes many, 5 - 25 cm long, decumbent or ascending, leafy in the middle. Radical leaves glabrous, rarely fully developed at the time of flowering; petioles long, bipinnatisect with lobes overlapping in young leaves. Flowers 2 - 2 .5 cm wide. Sepals 5, green or purple. Petals 6 - 10, white, prominently veined. Achenes globose, rugose.

Fl. & Fr. May - July.

Distrib. India: Jammu & Kashmir.

Pakistan and Central Asia.
