Herbs, erect, glabrous, up to 1 m high. Leaves ternately decompound; leaflets crenate or 3-lobed, ca 1.5 cm across; veins raised on lower surface; stipules well developed. Flowers small, in terminal panicles. Perianth segments white or purple, woolly at top. Stamens hardly exserted; filaments club-shaped, broadened at apex; anthers ca 1 mm long, obtuse, shorter than filaments. Achenes sessile, oblong, ellipsoid, 3 - 6 mm long, strongly ribbed; beak ca 0.75 mm long, shortly hooked.

Distrib. India: Himalayas. Himachal Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Bihar, Sikkim, Meghalaya, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu.
