Herbs, erect, 30 - 50 cm high, glabrous. Leaves simple or simply ternate, subsessile; lamina broadly obovate or orbicular, 1 - 3 cm across, deeply and obtusely toothed or lobed above, rounded or cordate at base, glabrous above, glaucous beneath; petioles 5 - 10 mm long. Flowers small, in spreading panicles, white. Sepals narrowly elliptic, 5 - 15 x 3 - 6 mm. Anthers rounded at apex. Achenes many, shortly stalked, prominently 1-ribbed, somewhat compressed, narrowly elliptic, ca 2 x 0.5 mm, glabrous, shortly stalked, tapering to ca 0.5 mm long beak.

Distrib. India: Himalayas, wet places in grasslands and rocks, 1800 - 3600 m. Uttar Pradesh and Sikkim.
