Herbs, much-branched, erect, 4 - 8 cm high; roots slender. Leaves absent, sometimes one-leaved, narrowly oblanceolate, attenuate at base, acute at apex, entire or rarely faintly toothed along margins, 10 - 15 x 1 - 2 mm, thick, subglabrous. Racemes 15 - 20-flowered, corymbose-capitate, bracteate. Flowers ca 2.5 mm across, white or pinkish; pedicels subspreading, 3 - 4 mm long in fruit. Sepals ca 2 x 1 mm, minutely hairy above, membranous. Petals oblong, cuneate, ca 3 x 1 mm, purplish. Stamens up to 1.8 mm long; anthers ovoid, ca 0.2 mm long. Fruits ellipsoid, attenuate at apex, 3.5 - 4 x 1.5 - 2 mm, puberulous; valves oblong, obscurely 1-veined; style 0.2 - 0.5 mm long, with minute depressed stigma; septum hyaline. Seeds 4 - 6, ovoid, brownish, ca 1 mm long.

Distrib. India: 3500 - 5600 m. Jammu & Kashmir.
