Herbs, annual or biennial, 30 - 90 cm high, erect, branched above, hairy or subglabrous. Leaves lyrate-pinnatifid, petioled; terminal lobe much larger than laterals; lateral lobes 2 - 3-paired, shortly toothed. Racemes 25 - 40-flowered, up to 20 cm long in fruit. Flowers ca 2 mm across, pale yellow. Sepals ca 3 mm long. Petals ca 4 mm long. Stamens ca 4 mm long. Fruits 5 - 7 cm long, glabrous; valves convex, 3-nerved. Seeds many, oblong-ellipsoid.

Fl. & Fr. April - June.

Distrib. India: Jammu & Kashmir.

Nepal, Pakistan, China (Tibet), C. Asia, Russia (Siberia) and Mongolia.
