Impatiens kleiniformis Sedgwick in Rec. Bot. Surv. India 6: 351. 1919.


Erect herbs, 20 - 35 cm high; branches flaccid. Leaves opposite, elliptic or oblong, gradually attenuate at apex, base of lower leaves narrowed into. short petiole, base of upper leaves increasingly rounded to cordate, crenate, subulate, ca 9 x 2.5 cm, glabrous, inconspicuously hirsute on nerves. Peduncles axillary, solitary or 2 - 3 together; pedicels with two distinct line of pubescence. Flowers about 6 mm broad, rose-coloured, corolla pink with a conspicuous darker line down the inner edge of lip. Spur. about 9 mm long, filiform, subarcuate. Capsules fusiform; seeds black, glabrous, polished.

Distrib. India: In ghats at about 550 m. Karnataka.

Rare; endemic.
