Rootstock articulated; stolons up to 20 cm long. Leaves in rosette, ovate-oblong, acute, crenate-serrate, 2.5 - 7 x 1 - 3.5 cm, pilose; petioles 1 - 6 cm long, pilose; stipules lanceolate, acuminate, fimbriate to subciliate. Peduncles 3 - 6 (-11.5) cm long. Flowers white. Sepals linear, acule, up to 1 cm long, densely ciliate, trinervate, appendage shortly truncate. Petals obovate oblong, up to 1.5 cm long. Ovary glabrous; style clavate; stigma shortly beaked above. Fruits not seen.

Fl. April - May.

Distrib. India: Arunachal Pradesh (BM) and Nagaland.

Myanmar and China.

Notes. Allied to V. hossei W. Becker but easily distinguishable by its somewhat densely pilose, ovate-oblong leaves, larger flowers and longer trinervate densely ciliate sepals.
