Evergreen shrubs or trees, up to 12 m tall. Leaves oblong or ovate-oblong, up to 22 x 8.5 cm, acuminate-bluntish, entire, coriaceolls, glabrous, shortly petioled. Flowers axillary; peduncle short, thick, with minute bracts; pedicels puberulous. Calyx tawny puberulous. Drupes obovoid, scarlet, minutely velvety.

Distrib. India: Andaman & Nicobar Islands.

Myanmar, Malay Peninsula, Thailand, Philippines and Celebes.
