Medium sized to small trees. Leaves alternate or subopposite, entire, penninerved, petiolate, simple. Flowers bisexual, small, in terminal corymbose cymes, ebracteate, pedicellate. Calyx 5-toothed, or crenate, persistent. Petals 5, free or slightly connate at base, linear-oblong, externally pubescent, valvate, hairy to galbrous, within. Stamens 5, free, flattened below, slender above, smooth, as long as the petals; anther lobes separated below, dorsifixed. Disc cup shaped crenuiate, glabrous, margin usually hairy. Ovary superior, straight, pubescent, tapering into a short style, 1-celled; style hairy or glabrous. Drupe oblong.

South East Asia; ca 5 species, 1 in India.
