Herbs, 15 - 40 cm high, glandular-hairy; stems erect, slender, branched at base. Leaves linear-oblong, subacute at apex, 20 - 30 (-40) x 2 - 4 (-10) mm. Cymes few-flowered. Flowers 1.2 - 1.9 cm across; pedicels slender; bracts narrowly scarious-margined. Sepals oblong-lanceolate, acute at apex, 6 - 7 mm long, scarious-margined. Petals broad, 8 - 9 mm long. Capsules cylindrical, 10 - 12 x 3 - 4 mm; seeds many, flattened.

Distrib. India: Alpine Himalayas. Jammu & Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh.
