Large trees, up to 12 m tall. Leaves 3 - 7-foliolate; leaflets elliptic-lanceoiate, 5.5 - 9.5 x 2 - 4.5 cm, abruptly obtuse-acuminate, cuneate at base, serrate, glabrous, subcoriaceous. Flowers ca 0.3 cm long, yellowish white, in axillary or terminal panicles. Filaments hairy. Disc evenly crenate. Fruits globose, ca 2.5 cm across, glabrous, shortly 1 - 3 pointed.

Distrib. India: Western Ghats, occasional in evergreen Shola forests, up to 1700 m. Tamil Nadu, Karnataka and Kerala.
