Trees, up to 25 m tall; bark dark or black-brown, rough. Leaves alternate,
paripinnate, exstipulate; leaflets opposite. Inflorescence axillary and terminal
racemes. Flowers polygamo-dioecious, greenish or yellow. Sepals 4 - 5, subequal.
Petals 4 - 5, spathulate. Disc annular, fleshy. Stamens up to 8, inserted in the
disc; filaments filiform, pubescent. Ovary 2-loculed; ovules solitary; style short;
stigma thick, hairy. Fruits 1 - 2 -lobed, indehiscent. Seeds exarillate.
South East Asia, W. Malesia; 2 species, 1 in India.
