Lianas or large scandent shrubs; young branchlets rusty puberulous, verrucose-lenticellate on maturity. Leaves 1 - 3-jugate; leaflets elliptic to lanceolate, 4 - 25 x 2 - 9 cm, base cuneate to rounded, apex obtuse to obtusely acuminate, thinly coriaceous, glabrous or pubescent beneath on midrib and main nerves; nerves 4 - 12 pairs; petiolules 2.5 - 7.5 mm long. Panicles terminal, broad, up to 25 cm long, rusty pubescent, many-flowered; bracts minute. Sepals ovate-elliptic, 2 - 4 mm long, acute or obtuse, outer surface pubescent, inner surface glabrous. Petals lanceolate to linear, 3 - 8 mm long, obtuse, outer surface glabrous, sparsely glandular-pubescent within. Stamens united at the base, inner whorl steri1e or all fertile, sparsely glandular-pubescent. Follicles oblique-pyriform to semi-ellipsoid, compressed, 1.5 - 3.75 x 1 - 2 cm; stipe shortly stalked indistinctly beaked; pericarp thin, outer surface rusty pubescent, brownish, woolly pubescent within.
