Herbs, up to 80 cm high, branched mostly from base, glabrous or sometimes sparsely hairy. Basal leaves oblong-lanceolate, sessile, cuneate at base, entire or irreguarly toothed along margins, 15 - 50 x 5 - 10 (-15) mm; upper leaves lanceolate or linear, sagittate-amplexitaul at base, entire or toothed along margins. Racemes 30 - 70-flowered, up to 30 cm long in fruit. Flowers yellow, ca 3.5 mm across; pedicels ascending, 10 - 20 (-25) mm long in fruit. Sepals ca 2.5 mm long. Petals ca 5 mm long. Fruits obovoid, rounded at apex, 7 - 9 x 4 - 5 mm; valves convex, glabrous with a distinct midrib; style 1.5 - 2 mm long with capitate stigma. Seeds 9 - 10 in each locule, ovoid, ca 1.5 mm long, brown.
