Herbs, annual, erect. Leaves simple, alternate, subentire or dentate, pinnately veined. Inflorescence single or heads clustered, axillary. Heads discoid. Involucral bracts 3 - 4-seriate, acuminute or subspinescent at tip, scarious margined. Corolla 3 - 4-lobed. Anthers sugittate to acute at base. Style bifid; branches hirtellous. Achenes angular, ribbed. Pappus coroniform.
