Herbs, perennial; stems yellowish white, tomentose, divaricately branched. Leaves ovate to ovate-triangular, acumiante, margins sinuate, denticulate with mucronulate teeth, 4.5 - 10 x 3 - 7 cm, glabrous to sparsely arachnoid tomentose on the upper surface, lower surface with yellowish grey tomentum, veined; petiole 3 - 5 cm long; upper most leaves ovate to lanceolate, cuneate at the base. Capitula radiate, 8 - 14 in diam., bracteolate; slender, 10 - 15 mm long, bracteate. Involucre campanulate, 8 - 12 x densely tomentose; bracts 5, oblong-lanceolate, 2.5 - 3 mm broae puberulous at the apex, herbaceous, with broad scarious margins. R yellow, 5 - 6, 10 - 12 mm long; ray linear-oblong, 3 - 5 x 1 - 1.5 mm, 4 Disc florets 12 - 13 mm long; corolla limb ca 6.5 mm long; tube 7.5 Anthers 3.5 - 4 mm long. Achenes cylindrical, 5.5 mm long, glabrou yellowish white, 10-12 mm long.

Distrib. India: E. Himalayas, between 1500 - 2100 m. Sikkim and 1

Bhutan, Nepal and China.
