POLYANTHEAE Schneider


Stems mostly sulcate; internodes 1.4 - 3.5 cm long; spines usually 3-flowered. Leaves mostly deciduous, rarely semi-evergreen. Inflorescences usually 12 - 100-flowered. Flowers 6 - 8 mm across. Ovules 1 - 5. Berries red.

India, Pakistan, Nepal, Bhutan and China.
